KuroKawa flows from Nikko to Kanuma, Tochigi, Japan.

Yesterday, 600kg of fish were released into this beautiful river we live on KuroKawa 黒川 (Black River). 400 more kg will be added within the next several weeks.

Today is the first day of the fishing season on KuroKawa. 300 fishermen converged on the hostel grounds at 4:00 a.m. this morning to buy licenses at ¥3,000 each.

The fish they stock is Yamame やまめ.
